Abstract

The bile cysts are cystic dilations that some times are single or multiple in the biliary tree. The incidence is 1 in 100,000 - 150,000 live birth and a highest rate in Asia, 1: 1,000 live birth most in Japan. Etiology is unclear but it is accepted the Babbitt`s theory based in the presence of anomaly in the bile-pancreatic junction with a pancreatic reflux to bile duct. There are five types and the Type I is very often with a 80 - 90 %.
